Tot Shabbat
Geared towards families with preschool age children we welcome all ages. Services are held the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm. We use no prayer book and sing lots of songs. The services are very informal and end with a short story and challah.
Additional Services
Our ritual committee leads various services throughout the year, including Havdalah, Under the Stars and Creative Shabbat.
Once a month we have a Shabbat morning minyan from 11am to noon in our library. This is a come as you are, informal prayer service.
Holidays
Our congregation celebrates the Jewish Holidays throughout the year. Please consult the Bet Breira Calendar on this site and the Shomer for specific dates and times.
Selichot
The Saturday prior to Rosh Hashanah we have a early study program, followed by a desert reception and then a Havdalah Service and spiritually moving Selichot service with our Choir and members of our ritual committee.
High Holidays (early and late services)
Rosh Hashanah
We offer a special one hour, non-traditional creative Family Service featuring The Big Bad Bimah Band for Erev Rosh Hashanah. The customary Adult Evening Services and the first day or Rosh Hashanah for either Early or Late services requires tickets. Children over the age of 9 may attend the regular Services, but require tickets for admission.
Children under 9 years of age are invited to attend the Family Service at 7:00 pm on Erev Rosh Hashanah and Children's Services at 3:00 pm on the first day of Rosh Hashanah again featuring The Big Bad Bimah Band this service does not require tickets.
The 2nd day Rosh Hashanah Service does not require tickets and is open to the public. This service begins at 10:00 AM. A Kiddush luncheon is served following this service.
Yom Kippur
We offer Adult Kol Nidre Services, Traditional Services, Children’s Services, Afternoon Services, Yizkor Services, and Concluding Services. We also offer a variety of programming in our library, including meditation, poetry reading, creative writing and text study. Children over the age of 9 may attend the regular Services, but require tickets for admission. Children under 9 years of age are invited to attend the Family Service at 3:00 pm. tickets are not required.
