 
Bet Breira is located at 9400 S.W. 87th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33176. It’s a most impressive structure on both an architectural and a spiritual level. Bet Breira excels as a place of worship because of the vision of its founding spiritual leader, Rabbi Barry Tabachnikoff.
When you approach Bet Breira from the outside your eye scans the landscape of the building. Angles jut out and the rectangular presence of the building soon fades into a kaleidoscope of shapes. You find yourself looking at the steps which are the ladder of Jacob protected by the Iron Gate with the Ten Commandments in front of it. Right from the start you know you are in a place of infinite possibilities.
Rabbi Tabachnikoff knew his synagogue was more than just a physical place for people to come and pray. A synagogue is a communal religious center where its congregation gathers to celebrate life and the many cycles it offers. Without congregants coming to pray in the physical structure there could not be a synagogue. Rabtab knew this as the truth not only of the ancients but of the moderns, too. Bet Breira gives everyone in the congregation a sense of belonging to the physical aspects of the facility.
The spiritual part of our synagogue is intertwined with this concept. The sanctuary structure has massive slabs of angular concrete shaped into Stars of David. The large volume of space it creates and the openness of the sanctuary has a pronounced acoustical effect that draws the mind and body upwards.
Like the ancient temples of Alexandria and Babylonia, Bet Breira has a Bimah like none other and it centers our sanctuary for the congregants to hear the liturgy and for them to see the rituals set forth.
Most impressive are our sanctuary windows. In ancient times windows were not favored because the outside scene might prove distracting to worshipers. Bet Breira has windows that are clear so the heavens can be seen and induce a greater awareness of the divine presence. We have windows of stained glass that reflect the stories and holidays of our faith, too.
When the sunshine beams into the sanctuary through our windows it reflects off our ner tamid (“perpetual light’) and commemorates our Temple Menorhas. Heaven seems to invite itself to come in and create the awareness for us.
